Update - 24th May 2020

Due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, I have taken the decision to go back to frontline social work for the next six months, and will be starting work as a Team Leader at Clackmannanshire Council.

Really excited by this new opportunity and looking forward to meeting the team there. However, this will mean that I will be suspending all independent work for this period.

Thanks to everyone I’ve worked with over the last few months. In the meantime, if you require an independent social worker, please visit the independents page of the British Association of Social Workers website.

Ian Henderson Social Work

Hello. I'm Ian Henderson. I established IH Social Work Services in January 2020, with the aim of providing a range of interventions to service users and organisations.

I have over 24 years experience as a social worker, manager and latterly an inspector, specialising in working with children and families.

I am a strong advocate for relationship based social work practice, and believe that only by forming these strong relationships can we assess circumstances accurately and provide the right kind of support to enable people to achieve their potential.

Full details of the services which I provide are contained here. I will accept referrals related to children & families work from anywhere in Scotland, or from English authorities where the young person being referred resides in Scotland.
